Day center activities

The day center is intended for patients and their relatives in home care at Pirkanmaa Hospice. Day center activities improve the well-being of outpatients and their relatives. The day center operates once a week at the bottom floor of the hospice.

The patients and their relatives get guidance and support from the home care nurse, physician, social worker, priest and physiotherapist. The voluntary workers at the hospice offer additional support and help for the patients and their relatives.

The day is started off with a cup of coffee, after which anyone willing can go to a sauna and take part in recreational activities. There is shared program for everyone between lunch and afternoon coffee. It is also possible for the patients and relatives to spend time together and share thoughts.

There is also a discussion hour for relatives and close friends. If so desired, the close friend can have a “day off” while the patient is at the day center.
